FSM #6 Credits Discussion.

Posted by kuro-rpg - December 23rd, 2008

Kuro-chan here. (AKA Kuro-RPG)

I just wanted to talk a little about my contributions to Four Swords Misadventures #6 end credits and "WHY" it was done a certain way. I threw the idea to Victor Fiori (Hadouken_Dude) as something that would be "Different" than his regular credits. Up to this point, his credits were short and not the most interesting to watch (in my opinion).

What got my interest in the idea was (of course) seeing the original version of the Rozen Maiden Ouvertüre ending and the song that goes with it, but as I looked through Youtube, I also found "Variants" to this ending, including a Sailor Moon variant, a Suzumiya Haruhi variant, and so on. That got me thinking "Why not a Zelda variant?" ... So I went with that idea to Hadouken and after some persuasion (since he was used to making his credits short, sweet and to the point), he agreed.

For a sample of the original version, you can look
here:
For anyone who has seen the credits, you will note that the two look VERY similar, with the exception being that there is a Zelda-theme instead of a Rozen Maiden-theme.

Does it make the Links more feminine? Yes. I was aiming for comparative accuracy and when I demoed the original full image to a few people, they were rather surprised to see just how "close" the original and Zelda version was. I wanted to match the proportions, facial expression, pose, etc. I felt it would not be much of a parody otherwise.

It has been interesting to read through the posted comments and the few mixed opinions I could find about my efforts. I am pleased to see a few approved of my efforts and what I was trying to do. Thank you.

Hello. Thanks for your comments.

Okay, to start things off, I did not actually "flash" the end credits to FSM #6. I provided the concept and the artwork image. The creator, Victor Fiori, animated it. However, if you are serious about wanting some artwork, I would need more information on what you have in mind, okay?

sure man thanks for the idea and i will try to convice hadouken-dude thanks for answering back.¡¡

Glad you took the time on the credit, but unfortunatly most people just exit out of the credit unless they expect an easter egg.

You should have victor put a major easter egg Right at the end, forcing us to watch credits :)

I knew the risks upfront, knowing that some people would skip the credits. I prefer to watch through them myself since they tend to be a breeding ground for Easter eggs anyway. I like to think of the FSM #6 credits itself as an Easter Egg.

I just now started to watch the FSM series tbh. I really enjoyed it so, I thought I'd see the master minds behind it. So, you convinced Hadouken_Dude to change the credits eh? Well, that's pretty cool imo. Which eps does the credits change in? Heh, I guess I can just keep watching and find out for myself huh? Well, it's a great series and I'm looking forward to more eps!

P.S. I was just wondering but, umm... what's the name of that girl in your profile's pic? The 1 w/ the purple hair; what's her name? If you could tell me I'd really appreciate it thx.

Sorry for the late reply. >_> It has been a while since I was on here.

That IS the Kuro-chan avatar, actually. Yes, I know Kuro is japanese for Black, but for some reason the "Purple-haired freak" called Kuro-chan has been my online avatar for a long time now. It is a result of a weird run of coincidences. :)

You did something in FSM but you'll need to say it agian

I did the following for FSM #6
- Provided the concept idea and background image for the end credits. Hadouked_Dude animated it and added the appropriate background music.
- Edited and made additional Vaati sprites so he could walk sideways.

For FSM #7 I am also doing the end credits, though the work involved is a lot bigger.

whens the new 4 sword link coming out
