I recognize this! This is the last track from Quest for Glory 4. Nice job! :D

AudioLion responds:

Thanks!

I know you posted this three years ago, but I'd like to see this finished. Nothing like seeing a little music from 80's being made more epic. :)

This is from the PAL version of Mystic Quest. We know it as "Final Fantasy Adventure" here.

I DO like it though. :)

YES! This is probably the first mix I have heard that got the climatic 8 measures at the end of the loop done RIGHT! GREAT!

RobSoundtrack responds:

AWESOME thanks so much Kuro-RPG
I'm glad there are others that share the same emotions for this song!

I wish I could do it again with todays gear/knowledge....Who knows I might...

A very musical piece you have put together.

Good:
- Your use of instruments that (I think) you do not normal use works out to your advantage. It reminds me of something from PS1's Dewprism game because of multiple instruments playing very different things to create your music.

Concerns:
- The main melody is over-repetitive. Repetition is not a bad thing so long as it is not overdone. I did sometimes wonder if the same could have been accomplished in 0:45.
- The pattern of your music (Like when percussion comes in and out) seems very similar to some of your past works. Try changing things around a little to keep things less predictable.

Overall: Quite good! :)

Adjeye responds:

Thank you, really you're helping me alot!

Quite interesting!

I think this is actually one of your better efforts!

Good:
- Nice change of consistency in the style at 0:54 with the sudden withdraw of all notes and substituting it with piano. Piano is awesome IF you use it right. I would say that counts!
- The off-harmony notes with the Sawtooth Synth(?) after 1:12 complimenting the accompanying notes. Nice indeed!

Concerns:
- No bass? Adding bass may or may not work for this kind of song though...
- Percussion felt predictable at times. It ended up feeling monotonous rather than dynamic.

Best Use?:
- A Video Game BGM I could see it working in. Probably a mild action/adventure scene with suitable tension and build-up to a major plot element and/or development.

Thoughts for instruments in future pieces:
- I am a fan of Choir Ahs for background noise and New Age for certain higher notes.

Adjeye responds:

Thank you for your build-up review!

A solid and decent effort!

Good:
- The off percussion at 0:45 was an interesting touch.
- Like the piano at 1:20. I am a piano fan.
- Rhodes Piano at around 2:00 with the light Sawtooth(?) was a fun combination.

Concerns:
- The bass and synth got old very fast, giving me a feel of declining enthusiasm for hearing it. Liven it up more with a change in the basic feel.

Favourite Part:
- Part at 1:20.

Overall Feel: Not bad, I think. Maybe it could stand for improvement, but it is fine if you choose to leave it alone.

Adjeye responds:

The part at 2:00 was actualy a jazz guitar but, I had the same feeling about this song as you had I think.

Beautiful!

Metroid Music Rule #06: "Every time a Metroid piece is heard, a Kraid theme breaks out!"

I was expecting the Kraid theme to pop into there through the whole thing, but you managed to keep the opening theme the whole way, while making it sound fresh and original.

A VERY excellent job on your part!

I like this take!

The subtle piano at the start leading into a big and powerful feeling and the eerie effect you try to make with the choir. I think this worked out quite well!

Does lots of work.
